Fall in love, plant a tree, pass a class, join a general strike, or prepare for the onslaught of Summer. These are just a few of the possibilities that May offers. It is a month of transition, separating Winter from Summer, the abuses of cold from heat. It is associated with reawakening, not just of flora and fauna, but also with revolutionary spirit (e.g., 1886, 1970, 2020). The defensiveness of prior months gives way to the restless potential of people seeking a better life.
